This Privacy Policy explains how Abair Pty Ltd (“Abair,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Abair Language Learning App (the “App”).
The App is available on iOS and Android and does not require an account, login, or email to use core features. Learning progress is primarily stored locally on your device. We do not operate our own server-side user profile database. However, the App uses third-party services for advertising, purchases/subscriptions, and push notifications, which may collect and process certain data as described below.
By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

2) Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide
No account required. You do not need to create an account or provide personal information (such as your name, phone number, or email address) to use the App.
Support communications (if you contact us). If you email us, we will receive your email address and the information you include in your message.
B. Information Stored Locally on Your Device
On-device learning data. Your learning progress, settings, and preferences are stored on your device. Abair does not collect this learning data onto Abair-owned servers.
C. Information Collected Automatically (Primarily by Third Parties)
The App uses third-party services that may automatically collect information such as:
- Device identifiers (for example, Advertising ID on Android, and IDFA on iOS where permitted)
- IP address (which may indicate approximate location)
- Device type, operating system, language, app version
- App and ad interaction data (such as ad views, clicks, performance metrics, and fraud-prevention signals)
- Purchase/subscription-related data (such as confirmation that a purchase occurred, subscription status, and receipt/transaction validation signals)
This information is collected and processed under the third parties’ privacy policies (see Section 6).
D. Push Notifications
The App includes notifications and reminder prompts to support learning habits.
To deliver notifications, the App may use platform notification services (for example Apple Push Notification service (APNs) on iOS, and equivalent services on Android). These services may involve device tokens/identifiers required to route notifications to your device. You can enable or disable notifications anytime in your device settings.
E. Information We Do Not Collect
Abair does not request or collect:
- Account credentials (no username/password system)
- Microphone or voice recordings (no speech recognition features)
- AI inputs for third-party model processing (no AI features)
- A server-side database of your learning activity operated by Abair
3) How We Use Information
We use information only as needed to:
- Provide App functionality (including reminders/notifications you enable)
- Serve ads and measure ad performance (including fraud prevention), where applicable
- Enable and manage subscriptions and in-app purchases and support “restore purchases”
- Respond to inquiries if you contact us
- Maintain the security and integrity of the App and comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information and do not rent it to third parties.
4) How We Share Information
We may share information in these limited circumstances:
- With third-party providers that deliver ads, process purchases/subscriptions, or provide purchase restoration/validation (see Section 6)
- For legal reasons (for example, to comply with applicable law or lawful requests, or to protect rights, safety, and security)
- Business transfers (if Abair Pty Ltd is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction)
- Aggregated or de-identified information (information that does not reasonably identify you) may be used to understand app performance and usage trends
5) Data Retention and Deletion
A. On-device learning data
Your learning data remains on your device until you remove it. Because the App does not include an in-app “reset progress” button, typical options include:
- Uninstalling the App, or
- Clearing the App’s storage/data using your device settings (options vary by OS/device)
B. Purchases and subscriptions (Restore Purchases)
The App includes a Restore Purchases feature to restore eligible purchases/subscriptions through the relevant app store and/or the subscription management provider used by the App. Abair does not operate an account system for this; restoration is based on the app store’s purchase records and provider/store mechanisms.
C. Support emails
If you contact us by email, we may retain your message for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, keep basic records, and comply with legal obligations.
D. Third-party data
Advertising and purchase/subscription providers retain data according to their own policies.
6) Third-Party Services
A. Unity Ads
The App uses Unity Ads to serve advertisements. Unity may collect and process data to deliver ads, measure performance, and prevent fraud.

Ad choices
- iOS: You can manage tracking permissions in iOS settings (including any App Tracking Transparency prompts, if shown).
- Android: You can manage ad personalization via Google/Android privacy settings (where available).
Consent notice
We do not operate a separate in-app consent banner. Where required, third parties and/or the operating system may provide privacy choices and controls. You can adjust preferences via your device settings.
B. Apple App Store / Google Play (Purchases)
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by the relevant app store platform. We do not receive or store your full payment details (such as credit card numbers).

C. Subscription Management Provider (for subscriptions/restore)
The App may use a third-party subscription management provider (for example, RevenueCat, if integrated in your build) to help validate purchases and manage subscription status/entitlements across devices consistent with app store rules. That provider may process device identifiers and purchase validation data to provide this service.

7) Children’s Privacy
The App is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information to a third-party service used by the App (for example, an advertising provider), contact us using the details in Section 1. You may also contact the relevant third party directly.
8) Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under privacy laws (for example GDPR/UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, LGPD, POPIA, and others), including rights to access, delete, correct, or object to certain processing.
Because Abair does not maintain a server-side learning profile database, many requests may need to be handled through:
- Your device controls (uninstalling the App or clearing app data), and/or
- Third-party providers (for example Unity Ads, the app stores, and any purchase/subscription provider)
If you contact us, we will respond in accordance with applicable law and, where appropriate, direct you to the relevant third-party process.
9) Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information. However, no system is 100% secure. Because most learning data is stored locally, the security of that data largely depends on your device security (screen lock, OS updates, etc.).
10) International Users
Abair Pty Ltd is based in South Africa. If you use the App from outside South Africa, third-party providers may process information on servers located in other countries. Those providers’ policies govern cross-border transfers and safeguards.
11) Links to Other Sites
The App may include links to third-party websites (for example, privacy and support pages). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. Please review their policies.
12) Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice within the App or by other appropriate means. The “Effective Date” above indicates when the latest version applies.
